About the race
Race to the Stones runs along The Ridgeway, Britain’s oldest footpath, ending at Avebury Standing Stones. In 2026 it offers 50 km and 100 km distances, either non-stop or split over two days, with a ~25 hour cut-off, on 11–12 July. Runners traverse chalk downs, ancient forests, and heritage landscapes toward a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The course is fully signposted, with chip timing, on-trail photography, and robust safety including medics and clinics, plus well-stocked pit stops with real food and hot meals at halfway and finish. Options include a charity entry and a two-day 100 km challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
