Race The Light at Wendover Woods
Race The Light at Wendover Woods is a summer trail running event scheduled for 16 July 2027 (date TBC). The event raises funds for the Chilterns Neuro Centre; all proceeds from the event are donated directly to the centre, which supports people affected by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke.
The event is based at Wendover Woods, Upper Icknield Way, Wendover HP22 5NQ. Routes run entirely on trails within the woods with no road crossings or gates. The course is fully marked and marshalled and is held under a Trail Running Association licence with UKA rules. Maximum entry is 500 runners.
Distances
- 10K Trail - approximately 250 m plus elevation.
- 5K Trail - approximately 125 m plus elevation.
- 1.5K Trail - fully accessible loop for wheelchair users and under 12s, non-competitive.
Age and facilities: the 5K is for ages 12 and over, the 10K is for ages 16 and over, and under 12s may enter the 1.5K. The event provides chip timing with live results, a finisher medal, medical support, a water stop on the 10K, marked routes, discounted car parking and a bag drop. Runners do not need to carry a map or GPX for navigation. There are male, female and accessible toilets in the main building. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
