Event overview
Race The Light at Wendover Woods is a trail running event scheduled for Saturday, 18th July 2026. The event is based at Wendover Woods (Wendover, HP22 5NQ) and is hosted by Forestry England. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Chilterns Neuro Centre, which supports people affected by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and stroke. The event holds TRA permits (No. 7446 & 7447) and is held under UKA rules. Maximum field size is 500 participants.
Distances and course
The event offers:
- 10K (approximately 250 m elevation gain)
- 5K (approximately 125 m elevation gain)
- 1.5K accessible route on a fully accessible loop for wheelchair users
Both the 5K and 10K routes take place entirely on trails within Wendover Woods with no road crossings or gates. The course is fully marked and marshalled. There is a water stop at approximately halfway on the 10K. Aid stations provide water and sweets. Chip timing with live results will be used and finishers receive a souvenir.
Logistics and rules
Minimum ages are 12 for the 5K and 16 for the 10K. Dogs are not permitted. There is onsite car parking, a bag drop, medical support, and toilet facilities in the main building. There are no changing facilities on site. Entries open 22/11/2025. Withdrawal more than four weeks before race day receives 90% credit valid for two years.
