Race The Light at Wendover Woods
Race The Light is planned for 16 July 2027 and takes place at Wendover Woods in Buckinghamshire. The event raises funds for the Chilterns Neuro Centre, which supports people affected by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke survivors.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10K trail
- 5K trail
- 1.5K accessible loop for wheelchair users, walkers and under 12s
Both the 5K and 10K routes are entirely on trails within Wendover Woods with no road crossings or gates. The courses are undulating, with some climbs that are followed by longer descents. Elevation figures are approximately 250m plus for the 10K and 125m plus for the 5K.
The route is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons and marshals will be present. Runners do not need to carry a map or GPX for navigation. A GPX file is available for download and an interactive map is provided. Aid stations supply water and sweets, with a water stop about halfway on the 10K route; cups and bins are provided.
Entry is open to all runners subject to age limits: 5K minimum age 12, 10K minimum age 16, under 12s may enter the 1.5K. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Practical provisions include chip timing with live results, a finisher medal, medical support, marked routes, discounted parking, bag drop and toilet facilities. Dogs and canicross are not permitted.
