Event Overview
Race The Light at Wendover Woods is a Saturday evening trail running event taking place at Wendover Woods, Buckinghamshire. The event raises funds for the Chilterns Neuro Centre, a charity supporting people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's, and stroke survivors. All proceeds are donated directly to the centre.
Distances and Routes
The event offers three distance options:
- 10K Trail: A 10 km route with over 250 m of elevation gain, described as hilly and taking place entirely on trails within Wendover Woods.
- 5K Trail: A 5 km route with over 125 m of elevation gain.
- 1.5K Accessible Trail: A shorter, non-competitive route on a fully accessible path for wheelchair users, walkers, and participants under 12 only.
Event Information
The event base is at Wendover Woods (Forestry England) in Wendover, HP22 5NQ. The maximum number of runners is 500. The route is fully marked with signage and marshals, and participants do not need to carry a map or GPX file. There is an aid station with water and sweets at approximately the halfway point of the 10 km route. Toilets are available near the café, but there are no changing facilities.
Participation and Entry
The event is open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair users. Entry prices vary by distance and affiliation. All participants receive a finisher medal. Top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K receive awards, along with age category prizes. The nearest train station is Wendover Train Station, approximately 2.5 km from the start.
