About the race
Race the Landing 5K is a New Years Day running event at Charles Towne Landing State Park in Charleston, SC. The course goes through parkland with river and marsh views and stands of mature live oaks.
Pajamas are welcome. After the 5K there is indoor food service offering soup, cornbread, and traditional Hoppin' John with vegetarian options.

- Kids 5K for 12 years and under
- One mile kids fun run
Early packet pickup is available December 31 at Fleet Feet West Ashley. Packet pickup is also available on race day at the park. Registration opens July 9, 2026 and closes October 15, 2026. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $30.00 for the adult 5K, $20.00 for the kids 5K, and $15.00 for the kids fun run.
Shirts and awards will be recycled from various local events. Awards are organized in five-year age groups and extend five places deep. Proceeds benefit Charles Towne Landing State Park. The event does not offer transfers or refunds. Race the Landing may disqualify or ban participants who break park rules or who are disrespectful to event staff.
