Race The Clock
Race The Clock is an endurance track event held at Les Quennevais Cycle Track, a certified 1500 metre tarmac circuit. The event runs overnight and into the following day on the same loop, with options for different timed formats.
- 24 hour event
- 12 hour event
- 6 hour event
Participants may compete solo or in relay teams. Two person and four person relay options are available for the 24 hour and 12 hour events; the 6 hour event offers two person relays only. Team categories include male, female and mixed combinations.
The track is not floodlit, so headtorches and spare batteries are required for night running. Runners change direction every three hours. The event is chip timed and full laps must be completed to count.
A life base provides water, teas and coffees, snacks, space to rest and medical support. Snacks will not fully sustain runners, so personal nutrition is advised. The event is cup free; runners must use a reusable cup or bottle. Trackside toilets are available. Twenty four hour entrants are offered three hot meals and twelve hour entrants are offered one hot meal.
All entrants receive a technical T shirt and a medal. Awards are given for the most laps in each event, fastest 50 and fastest 100 categories, and team targets. Entry numbers are limited for each event and category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
