Race of the Santas - Breckenridge
Race of the Santas is a community holiday running event held in Breckenridge in December 2026. The course begins on Main Street in front of The Canteen at 208 N Main St and finishes in Blue River Plaza where the town tree lighting takes place. The event is organized by the Breckenridge Recreation Department.
Bib pick-up is held at The Canteen on the event day. At bib pick-up participants receive their race bib and, if purchased, a Santa suit or hat. Entry categories listed include adult and kids options with associated fees.
A portion of event proceeds benefits the Carriage House Early Learning Center. Carriage House is described as Breckenridge’s oldest childcare facility and focuses on intellectual, social and physical development in a high quality early childhood setting. The center emphasizes building relationships with families and the community and supporting long term learning and global responsibility.
The event day also features additional activities in the same area, including a holiday dog parade, a Moose March, a Santa arrival, and a countdown to the tree lighting. These activities are part of the event schedule and take place in and around Main Street and Blue River Plaza. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
