Event Overview

The 5th Annual Race of Champions in Altoona, Pennsylvania will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The event was formerly known as the Ken Brumbaugh Memorial Run and is presented as a celebration of people who have overcome challenges. It takes place at the Blair Candy Company on Beale Avenue.

Available Races

Participants can choose from three different events.

All events start and finish at Blair Candy Company.

Course Information

The 5k route starts at Blair Candy Company, proceeds down a flat section on Beale Avenue past Cesare Battisti, and continues through rolling hills on Broad Avenue before returning to the finish at Blair Candy Company.

The 2-mile course for both the run and walk also starts at Blair Candy Company, follows through the rolling hills of Altoona, loops back to Broad Avenue, and finishes at the start location.

Registration & Logistics

The standard registration fee is $26. The first 350 participants to register are guaranteed a long-sleeve t-shirt. Race packets can be picked up in advance at the Blair Regional YMCA or on race day at Blair Candy Company.

Race bibs are required and color-coded for each event. Changes between events must be made by phone before race day; no changes are permitted on the event day. Headsets and pets are not permitted for safety reasons. Parking is available at Blair Candy Company.

Awards

An awards ceremony is held immediately after the race. Medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers in the 5k Run and to the overall top finishers in the 2 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk. Additional awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each event across numerous age categories, from 6-8 years old to 70 and over.
