Race Montana Triathlon and Duathlon 2026
The 18th annual Race Montana Triathlon and Duathlon takes place on August 22, 2026 at Electric City Water Park in Great Falls, Montana. The event offers multiple triathlon and duathlon formats for adults and youth, with both individual and team entries.
The Adult Sprint Triathlon includes a 500 meter swim in the Electric City Water Park 50 meter pool, a 12.2 mile bike course with the first 5 miles and last 6 miles relatively flat and mile 6 a steady climb to the turnaround, and a flat 3.1 mile run. Team entries are available; team racers start with individual racers based on anticipated 500 meter swim time.
The Duathlon begins with a 1.0 mile run from the bike transition area in the water park parking lot, which is completely flat. Athletes then bike either 12.2 miles or 3 miles matching the triathlon courses, and finish with a final 1.0 mile or 3.1 mile run.
The event includes two youth divisions. The Youth and Adult Long Course features a 100 meter swim two pool lengths, a 3 mile bike, and a 1 mile run. The Youth Short Course includes a 50 meter swim one pool length, a 1 mile bike, and a 0.5 mile run.
All race participants receive free access to Electric City Water Park during the afternoon on race day. The event is professionally timed by Competitive Timing of Whitefish, Montana.
