Event Overview
The Burn The Bird event takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Great Falls, Montana. Centered at Gibson Park, the event offers multiple distance options for participants. The courses utilize the local park area and a portion of the event proceeds are donated to support the Rivers Edge Trail.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1.33 mile Fun Run/Walk
The 1.33 mile distance consists of a single lap around Gibson Park. The event is open to both runners and walkers. Registrations are accepted in advance, and race day sign-up is also available at the park location. Participants who are among the first 500 to register receive a themed pair of socks.
A packet pick-up service is organized on the day before the race at the race headquarters in Evergreen Square. The venue for the race itself is located at Park Drive North and 4th Avenue North. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
