My Best Day 5K and Kids' Dash : Great Falls, MT
This event raises funds for the Jake Arntson Memorial Fund and the Jake Arntson Teammate of the Year Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes at CMR, GFHS, and St. Patrick's Academy who have displayed the qualities of being the best teammate. The fundraiser also honors the memory of Jake Arntson and other local children and adults on Angel Avenue.
The program includes a community Kids Dash for ages 11 and under and a five kilometer run on the River's Edge Trail. The Kids Dash offers one lap (one quarter mile) or two laps (one half mile); the first boy and first girl to finish the two-lap race will receive a donated bicycle. Spectators and parents may stand in the center of the course to watch and cheer.
The five kilometer course follows the River's Edge Trail in a loop along the river and uses public crossings and bridges, including the Central Avenue walking bridge and the 9th Street Bridge. A staffed crossing at River Road and a water and aid station at the halfway point are provided. Online registration closes on September 19 and same-day registration is available at West Bank Park.
