Race for the Warrior - Fort Wayne, IN
Race for the Warrior is a community event held at Fort Wayne International Airport using adaptive and stroller friendly runways. The event supports the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council and its Military Support Fund and proceeds include community-focused activities and displays. The event proceeds regardless of weather and registration fees are nonrefundable.
Entry options include run/walk, ruck, adaptive division, a kids training trot, and a virtual 5K. The ruck encourages participants to carry a backpack stocked with canned goods; all donated goods go to the Community Harvest Food Bank. The adaptive division is for individuals with permanent physical and/or visual impairments, with examples such as limb loss, spinal cord injury, or vision not correctable by glasses or contacts. A free Training Trot is offered for children ages 3 to 8; a separate lunch may be purchased for a child.
Registration packages may include family entertainment, a race shirt for registrations made before 5/1/2026, lunch with the Warriors, water, and one beer for participants 21 and older. Packet pickup and same-day registration are available on race day. Bicycles are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
