Event details
The RACE FOR THE WARRIOR takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, on the stroller-friendly runways at Fort Wayne International Airport. The event includes multiple distance options and activities:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Ruck
- 5K Adaptive Division
- Kids Run - Training Trot
- 5K Virtual
- Lunch with the Warriors
The event will occur rain or shine. Bicycles are not allowed on the course. The race is not located at the airport main terminal.
Logistics
Online registration is available until 9:50 AM on May 16, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Coventry location. Gates will open on race day for packet pickup and check-in. Race t-shirts or other swag are not guaranteed for registrations made after May 1, 2026. No refunds will be issued.
Organizer and purpose
The event is organized by the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council. The organization operates a 501(c)(3) Military Support Fund that provides grants to military members and their families who live or serve in the twelve-county area of Northeast Indiana during times of unexpected financial hardship.
