Race for the Ribbon 5K - Lewes, DE
The 19th Race for the Ribbon is a community 5K held at the Main Beach parking area on the north side of Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes. The event is the second race in the Seashore Strider summer championship series and includes both a run/walk division and a separate 5K walk division as part of a series trial.

The course is a flat and fast out and back through Cape Henlopen State Park. Chip timing will be provided using the Chronotrack B Chip system. Custom printed shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by May 25; later registrations receive shirts while supplies last.
Awards are presented for overall male and female champions, overall masters (40+), and the top three finishers in 16 age groups from 9 and under through 80 plus. Awards will also be given to the top five walkers. Awards are presented shortly after the final finisher; out-of-town winners may have awards shipped for a postage fee.
Registration options include online entry and mail-in using the event mailing address. Fee structure varies by registration window with tiered early, pre, and race-day pricing. The event raises funds for cancer-related causes, and 2026 proceeds will benefit a former Seashore Striders national cross country champion undergoing medical treatment.
