19TH RACE FOR THE RIBBON 5K RUN & 5K WALK (SS Summer Series #2)
The event is a community 5K run and a separate 5K walk held at Cape Henlopen State Park, Main Beach Parking Lot North Side in Lewes, DE. It is presented by Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc. and serves as the second event in the Seashore Strider Summer Championship Series. Proceeds for 2026 are to be determined and the race has supported cancer related causes in prior years.
Distances include:
- 3.11 Miles run
- 3.1 Miles walk
The course is a flat and fast out and back route within the state park. Race timing will use the Chronotrack B Chip system. Finish line production, custom t shirts and a post race awards ceremony are part of the event amenities. Awards include Overall male and female champions, Overall masters, and top three finishers in 16 age categories; top five walkers also receive awards. Awards are presented within twenty minutes of the final finisher and unclaimed awards may be shipped for a postage fee.
Registration is available online or by mail. Fee tiers listed for the event include early, pre and race day pricing, and participants registered by the stated shirt cutoff date are guaranteed a t shirt. The event also includes a trial 5K walk division in the series that follows race walking standards and may qualify walkers for series awards.
