14th Annual RACE for the Orphans 5K : May 2, 2026, Newnan, GA
The 14th annual RACE for the Orphans 5K takes place in downtown Newnan, Georgia, with a start/finish area at First Baptist Church of Newnan, 15 W Washington Street. The event was founded in 2013 to raise awareness, compassion and education about the needs of more than 150 million orphans worldwide. The annual 5K event has grown to more than 1,000 participants and volunteers and raises funds for area adopting families.

Start2Finish Atlanta will manage the finish line and use RFID chip timing. Awards include medals and cash prizes for the top overall 5K male and female finishers (1st place $500 plus a free pair of shoes from Dragonfly Running Company; 2nd place $250; 3rd place $100), masters and age-group medals, and awards for the top three schools with the most participants. A race T-shirt is guaranteed to registrants who register by April 26. Early registration ends April 26 and registration prices increase on April 27. Packet pick-up is available Friday, May 1 at Dragonfly Running Club (10 LaGrange Street, Newnan) and on race day at First Baptist Church (15 W Washington Street, Newnan).
