Event overview
The 14th Annual RACE for the Orphans 5K is scheduled for May 2, 2026 in downtown Newnan, Georgia, with the listed venue at First Baptist Church of Newnan, 15 W Washington St. The event supports RACE for the Orphans, Inc., a nonprofit founded in 2013 focused on raising awareness, compassion and education about the needs of orphans and on raising funds for area adopting families. The annual event has grown to more than 1,000 participants and volunteers.

The 5K course is USATF Certified (#GA19094WC) and serves as a qualifier for The Atlanta Journal & Constitution Peachtree Road Race. Start2Finish Atlanta will manage the finish line and use RFID chip timing. Packet pick-up is offered the day before at Dragonfly Running Club (10 LaGrange Street, Newnan) and on race day at First Baptist Church of Newnan. A race T-shirt is guaranteed to registrants who sign up by April 26; early registration ends April 26 and entry fees increase on April 27. A Phantom Runner option is available with the purchase of a $20 T-shirt.
Awards and recognition
Medals and cash prizes are listed for overall male and female 5K winners (including a $500 first-place prize plus a free pair of shoes), additional cash awards for 2nd and 3rd places, masters and age-group medals, and awards for the top schools with the most participants.
