Race for the Greenway 5K Run / Walk
Race for the Greenway takes place on October 25, 2026 at Hallock State Park in Riverhead, New York. The event is presented by Long Island Wine Country and includes an on-site 5K Run / Walk, a Kids Fun Run, and a virtual 5K option.

The course is an off-road trail through beaches, vineyards, ponds, and forests on mostly flat terrain. Terrain varies in places with loose gravel and grass. Strollers are allowed; pets are not permitted. Parking is available through RGNY with signage directing participants to the provided area across the road from the park.
Entry fees listed for the event include a Kids Fun Run fee and 5K fees; a higher day-of registration fee applies. Participant shirts are guaranteed for online registrations completed by October 16 at midnight. The virtual 5K is not held at the park, may be completed in a neighborhood location, and virtual participants are not eligible for awards. Results for the virtual event may be submitted beginning October 6.
Proceeds support creation of the Long Island Greenway; fundraising also benefits Harvest East End. After the race, participants age 21 and over may use their race bib at participating vineyards for post-race wine crawl specials. 2025 vineyard offers included complimentary pours, tastings, and discounts; 2026 offerings were noted as coming soon.
