Wolverhampton 5k
This Race for Life 5k is organised by Cancer Research UK at West Park, Wolverhampton (Park Road East and Park Road West, WV1 4PH). The course uses tarmac paths around the park with the start and finish on grass.
The route is a double lap: two laps complete the full 5k distance. The course is described as fairly flat but includes some inclines and several twists and turns; the double-lap format can cause brief congestion on narrower sections, and participants are asked to overtake on the right side of the path.
Arrival and site details note a short walk from the Tea Rooms to the start and finish area and the closest gate is the Southgate Entrance. Parking around the venue is very limited and blue badge parking spaces are available around the park perimeter. Drop-offs are permitted at the park perimeter. The nearest train station is a 20 to 25 minute walk; there are bus stops nearby and bike racks around the park. A Chargemaster electric vehicle charging point is located on Park Rd W, Wolverhampton WV1 4PN.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, dogs allowed, suitability for pushchairs, wheelchair access, bag drop and showers. A minimum fundraising target of £50 is stated and entry fees are listed between £11.00 and £15.99.
