Race for Life Sunderland : Herrington Country Park
The event takes place on Saturday 27 June 2026 at Herrington Country Park, Chester Road, Penshaw, Sunderland, DH4 7EL. Entry is for people aged 16 and over. There is a minimum fundraising target of £50.
The course follows paths through the park, with sections of tarmac and gravel. The route is slightly undulating. The 10k distance is run as a double lap of the 5k course. The start line is on the field adjacent to the children's play area.

Travel and parking information notes free event parking at the venue and designated Blue Badge spaces; there are no electric charging points on site. Pedestrian access is available from Penshaw village and several buses run along Chester Road. Bicycle locking to the fence is at owners own risk.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, bag drop, and provision for dogs. The site aims for wheelchair accessibility; however assistance is likely to be required and some paths are uneven. The main event site is on grass and may be muddy depending on recent weather.
