Race for Life Stockport : Woodbank Memorial Park
Race for Life Stockport, organised by Cancer Research UK, takes place on Sunday 16 May 2027 at Woodbank Memorial Park, Turncroft Lane, Offerton, Stockport SK1 4JR. The event offers two distances:
- 3k
- 5k
The course runs through Woodbank Park and into Vernon Park, combining meadows, woodland and well-kept paths. Participants run 400 m around an athletics track as part of the route. Surfaces are mainly paths with some grass; some sections can be uneven and become muddy or slippery in wet weather. There are notable uphill and downhill gradients along the course. The start and finish areas are located in the field within the centre of Woodbank Park.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments and toilets. Dogs are allowed and the course is suitable for pushchairs. Blue Badge parking is available at car parks off Turncroft Lane; event parking, drop-off and volunteer parking are arranged at nearby park car parks. The nearest bus stop on Turncroft Lane is about a 10-minute walk. Stockport Train Station is about 1.1 miles away and Bredbury Station about 2 miles away.
The 5k event is not wheelchair accessible; the 3k is wheelchair accessible with assistance. Entry fees are shown from £5.50 to £7.99 and the minimum fundraising target is £50.
