Race for Life Shrewsbury at The Quarry

The 5km course runs within the 29-acre park on the bank of the River Severn and passes the Dingle garden. The course includes four short climbs of about 200 m each, with an average gradient of 5.7% on those sections. Surfaces are a mix of well maintained paths and grass; grass sections can become boggy in wet weather but can be avoided.
The start and finish are on the grass field next to the swimming pool within the Quarry. There is no designated event parking; the nearest major public car park is Frankwell, about 0.5 miles from the site and free on Sundays. The nearest bus station is about 0.5 miles away and the railway station about 0.6 miles away. Drop offs are suitable at the park gate on Victoria Avenue, which is under 100 m from the event site.
On-site facilities include refreshments and toilets. Dogs are allowed. The route is assessed as wheelchair accessible with assistance. Sunflower wristbands and British Sign Language stage content via QR code will be available, and Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
