Reading Pretty Muddy 5k at Prospect Park

Reading Pretty Muddy is a 5k obstacle event taking place on Saturday 06 June 2026 at Prospect Park, Liebenrood Road, Reading RG30 2ND. Entry fees listed are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. The minimum fundraising target is £50.00.

The course start and finish are on grass. The route is predominantly on grass and includes steep slopes and sections through woodland. The start and finish are located on the central grass field, just down from the tennis courts, cafe and ranger station.

Pretty Muddy events run in staggered waves every 15 minutes. Participants must be 13 years of age or older. The course features obstacles that require climbing, crawling and sliding; marshals are available to help and participants may skip obstacles if needed. A separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme is available for children aged 12 and under.

On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets and event parking. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed and bag drop and showers are not provided. There are no electric vehicle charging points at the venue.

Travel and parking notes include limited event parking accessed from Liebenrood Road with a short walk to the event site, an alternative pay and display car park at Meadway Shopping Centre, Blue Badge parking near the Ranger Station, local bus services that pass the park and a 15 minute walk from Reading West rail station. Cycle routes R50 and N422 run near or through the park and bike racks are available near the artificial pitches.

Event support items stated for participants include a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans, access to a Facebook community and a Race for Life medal on completion. Accessibility measures include sunflower wristbands at enquiries, staff trained as Dementia Friends and a QR code for British Sign Language stage content.
