Manchester Pretty Muddy 5k
The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester (Sheepfoot Lane, M25 0DL). Participants climb, crawl and slide through muddy obstacles over a course that mixes grass, surfaced paths and woodland trails and includes various elevations. The start, finish and event site are on grass that is predominantly flat.
Waves start every 15 minutes to manage safety on the course. Marshals are stationed on the route and can direct people to skip an obstacle if needed. The event requires participants to be 13 years of age or older; separate Pretty Muddy Kids events are provided for children aged 12 and under. A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies. Ticket prices listed are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. Finishers receive a Race for Life medal and participants are provided with a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign and training support.
The meeting point and start line are in The Bowl area at the bottom of Heaton Hall, near the Boating Lake. Event parking is at Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane with Pay and Display charges at £3.50 per hour and a 5 to 10 minute walk to the site. Blue Badge parking is available at Lakeside and other venue car parks. There are no electric vehicle charging points.
On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs and bag drop and showers are not available. Accessibility provisions include sunflower wristbands, a stage British Sign Language interpreter and staff trained as Dementia Friends.
