About the race
The event is the Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Stithians Showground in Stithians, Cornwall (TR3 7DP). The start and finish are on grass and the route runs over a mixture of gravel paths and grassy showground terrain; in wet weather these areas may become soft or muddy. The course is organised in staggered waves, with each wave starting every 15 minutes. Entry categories and costs are listed for adults and children.
A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies. Child entry is for ages 6 to 15 and children must be registered and accompanied on the day by a parent or guardian or an adult over 18 with parental consent. Children under 6 may attend free with a registered adult but are not registered participants.
To take part in the Pretty Muddy obstacle course on the day participants must be at least 13 years old. Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets and event parking. General event parking is free in a large field at the showground entrance from Tubbon Hill; blue badge parking is available nearby on grass. Public transport options are limited; the number 36 bus stops outside the showground and the nearest train station is Perranwell at about 4.2 miles.
The event is not wheelchair accessible and pushchairs are not suitable. Registered participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal at the finish. The organiser is Cancer Research UK.
