The course starts and finishes on grass beside the car park behind Houghton Hall. The terrain is mainly grass and is described as rough and bumpy, with a short section on stoney pathways. Surfaces are uneven underfoot and in wet weather the ground may become soft or muddy.
Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets and event parking. There is no designated drop off area, no electric charging points, no cycling bike racks and showers are not available. Dogs are not allowed and the course is not suitable for pushchairs. The event is not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the course.
Travel notes state the venue is remote and not suitable to reach on foot; the closest bus stop is over half an hour's walk away and there is no nearby train station. General event parking is provided in an event car park a short walk from the site; stewards and signage will direct attendees.
