Race for Life Darlington - South Park
Race for Life at South Park in Darlington is presented as a 5k event with an additional 3k distance available. The event is for participants aged 16 and over and carries a minimum fundraising target of £50. Entry fees listed are £15.99 for adults and £11.00 for children.
The route starts and finishes on the main field opposite the lake. The course uses a mix of terrain including pathways, road and grass. It begins in South Park, crosses a road into the meadow, returns through South Park past the bowling green and clock tower, and finishes back on the main field. The start and finish are on grass and the main site may be muddy under recent wet weather.
Travel notes indicate there is no parking at South Park and town centre car parks should be used. Pedestrian access is via gates off Bedford Street. Darlington train station is about a 15 minute walk from the park. Bicycle racks are not provided and electric car charging is nearby by the Vue Cinemas.
Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets, dog access, suitability for pushchairs, and wheelchair access with variations depending on weather. Sunflower wristbands are available and a QR code will provide British Sign Language stage content.
