Race for Life Darlington
This Race for Life event takes place at South Park, Parkside, Darlington (DL1 5TG). It offers two measured routes and is open to participants aged 16 and over. Entry fees range from £11.00 to £15.99 and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50.00.
The course uses a mix of terrain. The start and finish are on grass on the main field opposite the lake. The route runs on pathways, road and grass, begins inside South Park, crosses a road into the meadow, then returns through South Park passing the bowling green and the clock tower before finishing on the main field.
Accessibility and facilities are described for the event. In dry weather the route is accessible to wheelchair users but assistance is recommended. In wet weather a large section of the course may be inaccessible; the course can be adapted which may reduce the distance. The main event site is on grass and may be muddy. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee and Event Managers are trained as Dementia Friends. A QR code on site provides British Sign Language stage content.
Practical information includes no parking at South Park so town centre car parks are suggested, drop offs at the bottom of Bedford Street, and Darlington train station is about a 15 minute walk. There are no bike racks at the event.
