The course starts and finishes next to Blackpool Tower and the Comedy Carpet. Routes run along the lower and middle promenades, pass North Pier and the go-kart track, and include tarmac and hard-standing paths. The 10k follows a double lap of the 5k route. The route is generally flat with some livelier undulations and may have two-way sections where congestion can occur.

The event site start and finish areas are on flat, firm pavement. In poor weather promenade paths may become slippery, which could increase the level of assistance required.
