Basildon Pretty Muddy 5k
Basildon Pretty Muddy 5k is an obstacle event held within Gloucester Park, Basildon. The course is fully contained inside the park around lakes and combines grass and tarmac paths. The route is mostly flat with a couple of hilly sections, and the start and finish are on grass. The event features obstacles that involve climbing, crawling and sliding.
Participants must be 13 years of age or older to take part in this event. There is a separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme for children aged 12 and under. A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies. Adult entry and child entry prices are stated for the event.
The meeting point is on the football pitches behind Basildon Sporting Village. Limited free event parking is available via the sporting village car park; designated drop-off and blue badge parking arrangements are noted. The closest train station is Basildon, about 2 miles away, and a local bus service serves Gloucester Park. There are 15 cycle spaces at the Basildon Sports Village building and two electric vehicle charging stations in the car park.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments and toilets. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs; dogs are not allowed and some services such as bag drop and showers are not available. Organisers provide wave starts at 15 minute intervals, marshals on course, and participant items such as a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a finishers medal.
