Event overview
The Reach Inc. Race for Independence is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Bozeman, Montana. The event raises funds to support adults with developmental disabilities and their independence. Race formats include in-person and virtual options for multiple distances. Race day refreshments will include bottled water and pre-packaged snacks. Short-sleeved t-shirts are offered for sale for $15 on a first-come, first-served basis. Medals will be awarded at the live race to top finishers by event and age bracket.
Course and logistics
The in-person course runs on north Bozeman trails beginning at the Reach Work Center near 322 Gallatin Park Drive. The trail surface is described as hard packed with a few gentle hills and a total elevation change of 40 feet; runners may encounter wetland birds and mountain views. Packet pick-up is available at the Reach Work Center the day before and the morning of the event.

Entry fees listed on the event page include $30 for most running events and $20 for the 1K. Virtual participants may complete their chosen distance on July 4 and share results with Reach.
