The 30th Annual Race for Hope DC is a community 5K walk and run on May 22, 2027 at Freedom Plaza, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. The event raises awareness and funds for brain tumor research and support for patients and families. The course remains centered on Pennsylvania Avenue and includes views of the U.S. Capitol.
Event highlights include a survivor tribute walk up Pennsylvania Avenue, a post-race kids fun run, and a Wall of Hope tribute displayed at Freedom Plaza. Food and drink at the site include water at the 5K halfway point and at Freedom Plaza, plus ice cream and light snacks. The event is rain or shine. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome, pets are not; service animals are allowed.

- Kids Fun Run 75 yard dash; all kids receive a medal
Registration details noted for 2027 include in-person, timed runner, untimed, virtual, and volunteer categories. Timed runner registration closes on Wednesday, May 19. In-person event shirts are available for those who register prior to April 22, 2027. Virtual participants who raise at least $100 by April 22, 2027 are eligible to receive an event shirt by race day.
