Race for Every Child 5K Run/Walk
Race for Every Child is a community event held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., with a virtual participation option. The event features a 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Dash. Funds raised support pediatric care and research at Children’s National Hospital and help provide equipment, therapies, and services for children and families.
Registration policies and recognition In-person registration is free through October 11; registering in person from October 12 to October 16 requires a fee for the 5K and a separate fee for the Kids Dash. Virtual registration is free regardless of date. There is no day of registration. Recognition swag is not included with basic registration; participants earn items by fundraising. Example fundraising tiers include:
- $50 for a T-shirt
- $100 for a baseball hat
- $250 for a water bottle
- $500 for a tote bag
- $1,000 for a quarter zip
Logistics and volunteering Packet pickup is available before the event at designated locations, including Inventa Towers and the JW Marriott, with a separate pickup for hospital employees and patient families at Children’s National. Team captains have a July 24 deadline to qualify for a team captain T-shirt; Oct 1 is the deadline to switch registration type and to qualify teams for recognition. Participants have until December 31 to qualify for individual recognition items. Volunteer opportunities are available for the 2026 event.
