Raccoon Run 5K : Portland, Maine
The Raccoon Run 5K is a running event held in Portland, Maine on June 20, 2027. The event uses a scenic off road course and welcomes walkers as well as runners. Registration fees vary by date: $26 for early entry by January 8, $29 by April 1, $34 thereafter, and $39 on race day. Colorful Raccoon Run T shirts are provided to entrants registered by May 26 as available. Cash prizes are awarded to overall winners. Practical awards include pint glasses for top overall finishers and age group awards for ages 14 and under through 80 and over. Team awards are given to the top running club, corporate, and open teams of four or more.
The event donates proceeds to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Dogs are welcome when well behaved and when participants yield at the front of the start. Packet pickup is 0.4 miles from the finish and 0.9 miles from the start; maps will be provided and driving time is under five minutes between locations. The race policy states no refunds; if the event cannot be held due to major incidents, organizers will attempt to reschedule or convert the event to a virtual format.
