Raccoon Run 5K
The Raccoon Run is a running and walking event held in Portland, Maine. The course consists of a scenic off-road route. Participants can choose to participate in the following event:
- 5K run or walk
Registration includes a colorful T-shirt for those who enter by May 26th, with remaining shirts available after that date. The event features a straightforward atmosphere with plain water provided rather than flavored drinks or specialized snacks. Awards are presented in the form of pint glasses to the top male and female overall finishers, as well as winners in age groups ranging from 14 and Under to 80+.
Cash prizes are available for the overall winners. Team awards are provided for the top-performing Running Club, Corporate, and Open teams consisting of four or more people. The race course records stand at 17:04 for males and 18:35 for females.
The event allows dogs to participate provided they are well-behaved and start behind other participants. Administrative tasks such as packet pickup and race day registration take place at a location on Marginal Way, approximately 0.9 miles from the starting line at Baxter Blvd and 0.4 miles from the finish.
