Raby Castle Trail Runs 2026
The event returns to Raby Castle on 20 September 2026 with new routes at three distances. The location is Raby Castle, Park and Gardens in Staindrop, Darlington, set within the walls of a medieval castle and covering about 200 acres.

- Half Marathon (15+)
Routes will be confirmed soon. Planned course surfaces include firm paths, woodland trails, grass sections and gentle undulations. The route descriptions note ornamental lakes and wooded parkland, and there is a possibility of encountering herds of red and fallow deer during the runs.
One controlled dog per runner is allowed for cani-cross entries. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers will receive a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. A bespoke event T-shirt is available as an optional extra for £12. Free on-site parking is provided for participants.
The event information describes the venue approach as towers appearing through the trees and highlights the parkland setting as the backdrop for the running routes.
