Raby Castle Trail Runs 2026
The Raby Castle Trail Runs take place within the grounds of a medieval castle estate in Staindrop, Darlington. This historic location covers 200 acres of parkland and gardens, providing a setting characterized by ornamental lakes and woodland trails. Runners may encounter herds of red and fallow deer that roam freely throughout the estate during the event.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5 km (minimum age 11)
- 10 km (minimum age 15)
- Half Marathon (minimum age 15)
The courses consist of a variety of terrain, including firm paths, grass sections, and woodland trails. The terrain features gentle undulations across the parkland. The event is cani-cross friendly, allowing participants to compete with one controlled dog per runner.
Each participant receives live chip-timing. Upon reaching the finish line, runners are provided with a medal, merchandise, a drink, and a snack. There is also an option to purchase an event t-shirt.
