The Rabun Half Marathon is a grassroots trail race held in Sky Valley, GA. The event offers a single trail distance of 1/2 Marathon and records participants' clock times only. There are no T-shirts, no swag, and no awards.
The course passes natural landmarks such as Ammon Falls, includes sections of the Bartram Trail, and provides views toward Rabun Bald. The organizer describes the event as a simple trail running experience with minimal on-course amenities.
Registration closes on Wed, May 27 at 11:59 PM ET. Day-of registration is permitted as exact cash only with a fee of $45. Transfers, refunds, and deferments are not allowed.
A few volunteers are needed for tasks including parking, aid station staffing, course marshaling, and safety sweeping. Volunteer gifts include a complimentary entry to the next Rabun Half Marathon in June. Volunteers can join a Facebook group for updates and coordination.
Additional information, including directions to the start and pre-race communications, is available via the event's online information resources. The event is organized by local volunteers and emphasizes a low-key, community-driven trail running format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
