Rabbit Run 5k and Fun Run
The Rabbit Run 5k and Fun Run is a free community event hosted by the Chickasaw Nation. The event takes place at Purcell Lake in Oklahoma. Specifically, the base of operations is located at the pavilion on Chandler Park Road, situated across from the Purcell Multi-Purpose Building.
The event offers two main distances for participants:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5 km Run/Walk
Registration is available online up until two days before the event, and on-site registration is offered on the morning of the run. Participants can collect their event packets on race day starting in the early morning at the lake pavilion. T-shirts are provided to participants on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
The course is open to a variety of participants. Strollers are permitted for all distances. For those participating in the 5 km distance at a walking pace, the organizer requests that they stay to the right side of the course. While strollers are allowed, pets are not permitted at this event.
Individual age group awards are presented following the conclusion of the races. Recognition is given across a wide range of age categories, starting from participants aged 8 and under through to those aged 75 and over.
