R5k Run/Walk and Recovery Celebration : NRAP

Nevada’s Recovery and Prevention (NRAP) presents the 2026 R5k Run/Walk and Recovery Celebration on September 26, 2026 at the Snowflake Pavilion in Idlewild Park, Reno, Nevada.

The event is organized to observe National Recovery Month, promote community health and wellness, celebrate individuals in recovery, and reduce stigma associated with substance use. The program includes a community-facing recovery celebration with food, family activities, live music, guest speakers and advocates in recovery, vendors, and information from local community organizations.

The running component is a 5K course that starts and finishes near the Snowflake Pavilion and follows the Crooked Mile path west along the north side of the Truckee River to Ivan Sack Park, where participants turn around and return along the same route. A water station is located at the turnaround in Ivan Sack Park and is sponsored by Reno Running Company. Children under six may participate in a kids fun run at no cost; they do not receive official timing or an event t-shirt.

Registration for the event opens April 15, 2026. Fee levels vary by age and registration period, and registering by September 8, 2026 guarantees an official race t-shirt. Sponsor options include a tax-deductible $40 donation to cover entry for a runner in recovery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
