Queeny Backyard Ultra, St. Louis, MO
Queeny Backyard Ultra is a Last Person Standing style ultramarathon held at Queeny Park in Manchester, Missouri. The event is presented by Terrain Trail Runners STL and is affiliated with the Backyard Ultra Series. The 2027 edition is a Bronze Ticket event; the winner receives a guaranteed entry into a Silver Ticket event within the qualifying window from mid August 2026 through mid August 2027. The winner is responsible for their own registration fees and entry for any chosen Silver Ticket event.
The course uses a counterclockwise loop of approximately 4.19 miles with about 430 feet of ascent and 430 feet of descent. Trails used include Hawk Ridge Trail, Fox Run Trail, White Oak Trail, and Owl Creek Trails. The route combines wide paved sections, short dirt trail, and hardpacked stone or gravel, with rolling hills and some scenic sections.
Race headquarters and setup are at Smith Shelter, Queeny Park, 550 Weidman Road, Manchester, MO 63011. Smith Shelter is reached from Weidman Road via the park entrance and Edgar M. Queeny County Park Road. Final setup and additional details will be provided in a pre race email after online registration closes on February 28, 2027.
Terrain Trail Runners STL partners with the Trail Mix Fund, which covers race registration fees for runners who cannot afford them. Overall finisher awards will be presented in Non Binary, Female, and Male divisions. All other participants are listed as Did Not Finish and may receive a challenge coin based on loops completed.
- 12 to 18 loops (about 50 to 75 miles): Bronze Challenge Coin
- 19 to 23 loops (about 79 to 96 miles): Silver Challenge Coin
- 24 or more loops (100+ miles): Gold Challenge Coin
