Queen City Trick or Trot 10K/5K and Kids Monster Mile
The event includes the following races in Marquette, Michigan:
- 10K Run (6.2 Miles)
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 Miles)
- Kids Monster Mile (1 Mile)
The 10K also serves as the UP 10K Championship and awards 10 bonus points toward the Run The UP Challenge Race Series for registered participants. All participants in the 5K and 10K receive a medal and a giveaway; Kids Monster Mile participants receive a Monster Mile medal. Proceeds benefit JJPacks and the Negaunee High School Athletics Booster Club.
Course and logistics: the course begins on the 100 block of Washington Street in front of local businesses, proceeds down Washington Street, crosses Front Street, passes Iron Bay Restaurant & Drinkery, turns onto Lakeshore Boulevard and connects to the bike path near Main Street. The route heads south on the bike path toward Harvey. The 5K turnaround is located before the Carp River Bridge; the 10K turnaround is on the bike path before the Michigan Welcome Center and is marked by an aid station. Both races finish on the bike path between Spring Street and Baraga Avenue.
The Kids Monster Mile starts on the bike path in front of Thill's parking lot by the Old Ore Dock and turns around just after the entrance to Lower Harbor Park.
Packet pickup is at Queen City Running Company on Thursday 10/29 2pm - 8pm, Friday 10/30 9am - 8pm, and Saturday 10/31 9am - 11:30am; all bibs must be picked up by 11:30am. There will be no post-race party. Overall winners and age-group placings receive awards, and a costume contest offers gift certificate prizes for individuals and pairs.
