Quarry Turkey 2026
The Quarry Turkey is an annual running event taking place at the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont, California. Scheduled for the Saturday following Thanksgiving, this event includes multiple distances to accommodate various participation preferences:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Little Turkeys Run (approximately 100 yards)
- Virtual Runner option
The courses for the half marathon, 10K, and 5K are described as being mostly flat and fast. The Little Turkeys Run is a complimentary short distance for children accompanying race participants. For the half marathon, there is a specific early start option available for hikers or walkers who expect to take longer than 3.5 to 4 hours to complete the course.
The event serves as a fundraiser and food drive for the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one canned good on the morning of the race. Additionally, the event is part of the Double Turkey Challenge. Participants who complete both the Nitro Turkey on Thanksgiving Day and the Quarry Turkey on Saturday are eligible for a special connector medal that joins the medals from both events.
