Event Overview
The Quarry Turkey is a running event held on Thanksgiving weekend. It takes place on November 28, 2026, at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont. The event is described as family-friendly.
Distances Offered
Participants can choose from several race distances:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
There is also a free, non-timed "Little Turkeys Race" for children. This sprint is approximately 100 yards long and is available to children brought by race participants.
Course & Participation
The half marathon, 10K, and 5K courses use the trails at Quarry Lakes Regional Park. The half marathon route is noted as being mostly flat and fast. Walkers are welcome in these events. Participants are encouraged to wear Thanksgiving-themed costumes.
Community Support
The event supports the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one canned food item on race morning.
