PVTC Christmas Caper 10K
The Christmas Caper is the final race in the Potomac Valley Track Club Ed Barron Holiday Series Championship. It takes place at East Potomac Park Golf Course in Washington DC and is offered as part of the club's seasonal five-race series.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K run or race walk
- 10K run (no 10K race walk)
The courses use park roads and paths. The club describes the 5K as an out-and-back once and the 10K as an out-and-back twice. Water stations are provided at the registration area and at the 5K point on the 10K course. A bag check is available behind the registration table.
Registration is available online and via paper entry forms. Entry fees vary with the registration period and differentiate between PVTC members and others; fees increase in later registration periods. Because some races are on National Park Service grounds, onsite race-day registration is not available at those locations. Races are run on park roads and paths that remain open to the public, and the club notes typical distance-race fields of about 300 participants.
