Purdue Boilermaker Half-Marathon & 5K
The Purdue Boilermaker Half-Marathon & 5K is an annual autumn running event held in West Lafayette, Indiana. Now in its 15th year, the event attracts over 5,000 participants to the Purdue University area. The race takes place late in October, coinciding with the local Feast of the Hunters' Moon festival, which brings significant activity to the region.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- Half-Marathon (21.1 km)
- 5K (5 km)
The event includes an official pace team to assist participants during the half-marathon. All registered runners receive a long-sleeve shirt and an event-specific finisher medal upon completion. There is an extensive awards program featuring more than 250 individual awards across different categories.
Registration discounts are available for Purdue University students as well as active and retired military members. In addition to the races, the weekend schedule includes an expo and packet pickup for all competitors. Post-race refreshments are provided at the finish area. Because the event takes place during a busy festival weekend, local housing and travel arrangements are typically managed well in advance by attendees.
