Event information
The Puppy Love 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, SC at Palmetto Islands County Park, 444 Needlerush Parkway, 29464. The event includes the following distances:
- Puppy Love 5K Run/Walk - 5K
- Puppy Love Kids 5K (kids 10 & under) - 5K
General entry price for the main event is $40; the price increases after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm EST. Kids 10 and under register at no cost. One runner with one dog is priced at $45.
Participation rules and extras
The race is dog friendly for well socialized dogs on a leash. Dogs must not be off leash and are limited to one dog per handler. Minimum age to run with a dog is 12 years. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult, do not receive race swag, and are not officially timed. Participants are asked to carry a pick up bag for any on-course pet waste.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers with a dog, plus themed awards such as Best Sweetheart Squad, Best Heart Melter, Best Butt Wiggle, Grand Master Award, and Novice Award. Prizes are sponsored by Dolittle’s Pet Shop. A post-race owner/dog 100-yard Dash will award a prize to the fastest dog. Free park entry and parking are included with race entry. All participants receive a race t-shirt and a matching bandana for their dog. Hot chocolate and treats for humans and dogs will be available after the event. Packet pickup is at Blue Sky Endurance, 624 Coleman Blvd, on Friday, February 6 (10:00am - 6:00pm) and Saturday at Palmetto Islands County Park (8:00am - 8:30am).
