The Pupkin 5pice 5k takes place on October 31, 2026 at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park, 745 Cochran Hill Road, Louisville, KY. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series.

Race entry includes a gender specific short sleeve Pupkin Spice tech shirt, a finisher medal, and a finisher certificate showing time and place. Pet-related items and activities include a free bandana for pets while supplies last, a pet parade, and a costume contest with multiple pet and human categories. There is a family of four registration option that saves $10 off combined registration fees.
The event names Friends of Metro Animal Services Louisville as its charity partner. Participants who raise a specified fundraising amount may receive a refund of the entry fee. The event will also collect donations for the Metro Animal Services Pet Food Pantry; donors receive a coupon for a free Jeff's Donut.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall, first male and female master and grandmaster, and top three in multiple age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over. Virtual entries have specified submission windows in late October; one virtual option requires packet pickup and the packet-mailing option provides a later submission window.
