The Pupkin 5pice 5k is a themed 5 kilometer event held at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park, located at 745 Cochran Hill Road, Louisville, KY. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and contributes to a series finisher medal for participants who complete the required races.

Race entry includes a gender specific short sleeve Pupkin Spice tech shirt, a finisher medal and a finisher certificate with time and place. Costume contest categories include Most Original Costume, Best Pet Costume, Best Couple Costume, Best Family/Group Costume, and several pet-focused awards.
Friends of Metro Animal Services Louisville is the event charity partner; participants who raise a specified fundraising amount may have their entry fee refunded. The event will collect donations for the Metro Animal Services Pet Food Pantry and will offer a coupon for Jeff's Donuts to donors.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall, first male and female master and grandmaster, and top three in multiple age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over.
