Pupkin 5pice 5k takes place on October 31, 2026, at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park, Louisville, KY (745 Cochran Hill Road). The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and offers both in-person and virtual participation options.
Race entry includes a gender-specific short sleeve Pupkin Spice tech shirt, a finisher medal, and a finisher certificate showing time and place. Pet-related features include a pet parade, a costume contest with many award categories, and a free bandana for pets while supplies last. Organizers are collecting donations for the Metro Animal Services Pet Food Pantry; donors receive a coupon for a free Jeff's Donuts.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall, first male and female master and grandmaster, and top three male and female in multiple age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over. Costume contest prizes are specified for numerous categories such as Most Original Costume, Best Pet Costume, Best Family/Group Costume, and Funniest Pet Costume.
Virtual entries may be completed off-site; packets for virtual entrants are not mailed unless the packet-mailing option is selected. Submission windows for virtual results are listed for the virtual options. A Family of Four registration option is available and requires creating a team. Organizers note past safety issues with parking on the Scenic Loop west and recommend parking in lots south of Hogan's Fountain or farther away and walking on park trails.
