Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati

Gourdy's Pumpkin Run is a fall-themed athletic event held in downtown Cincinnati. The event takes place at Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman's Cove, located at 705 E Pete Rose Way. Participants can choose to complete the course as a runner or a walker. The event has been a recurring tradition since 2012 and is open to all ages and abilities. Registration for the event supports the organization Girls on the Run.

The primary distance offered is:

  • 5 km (3.1 miles)

The course is set in a downtown environment. Participants receive a commemorative race bib with chip timing for the event. Registered participants also receive a lightweight tech hoodie, a finisher's medal, and a small pumpkin to take home. After crossing the finish line, a cup of apple cider is provided to all participants.

For those seeking an additional challenge, the event offers a Tough Pumpkin option. In this version, participants carry a pumpkin during the 5 km distance. These pumpkins are selected at packet pick-up and range in weight up to ten pounds. Participants who complete this option receive an exclusive additional medal.

The event allows for individual or team participation. Teams consist of multiple members who can join using a specific team name and password. Volunteers assist with the event and may choose between a race registration or a donation made to a partner organization as a reward for their service. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
