Pulse Walk: Penny Per Step Challenge

Pulse Walk is a community 5K walk offered with both in-person and virtual participation options. The in-person event takes place at Indian Creek Greenway, Creekwood Pavilion area, in Madison, Alabama, and is described as a non-competitive community 5K designed for all ages and abilities.

In-person registration pricing is tiered: Early registration is $20 through July 31, 2026; Standard registration is $30 from August 1 through August 31, 2026; Late registration is $40 from September 1 through September 26, 2026. In-person registration includes an official Pulse Walk T-shirt (sizes Small through XXXL), an event participation bib, access to the fundraising platform, and eligibility to compete for the Top Fundraiser Super Car Ride Experience. Processing fees charged by the registration platform are the responsibility of the registrant. The event staging area is near the Indian Creek Greenway Disc Golf Course pavilion area off Slaughter Road; access requires driving through the Creekwood community entrance. Detailed parking instructions and event day information will be emailed to registered participants.

Virtual registration is $20 and virtual participants may add an official T-shirt for an additional $20 to cover printing and shipping. Virtual participants may complete their 5K from anywhere between September 20 and September 26, 2026, use a phone or wearable to track steps, and must submit a final step count so per-step pledges can be processed.

After registration, participants are guided to create a personal fundraising page where sponsors can pledge $0.01 per step or make a flat donation. Virtual and in-person participants remain eligible for fundraising recognition, sponsor activities, and community gathering opportunities during the event.
