Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic (2026)
The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic is a three-day race weekend held in Tampa, Florida, with a central location at 333 South Franklin Street and a flat, out-and-back waterfront course along Bayshore Blvd. The weekend includes a Health and Fitness Expo, a dog walk, multiple road races, and several multi-event challenges.
Race offerings include:
- Pepperjack's Hot Diggity Dog Walk (one human and one dog; max two dogs per human)
- 15K
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 5K Stroller Adult (participant must be 5 years or older)
- 5K Stroller Child (child must be 4 years or younger; medal only)
- Half Marathon (listed as sold out)
- 8K and 8K Walk
- Four multi-event Challenges (various race combinations; some challenges listed as sold out)
A post-race celebration along the Hillsborough River includes live music, an awards presentation, and one complimentary Michelob Ultra beer for registered participants aged 21 or older. The event is organized by the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The association directs event proceeds toward youth charities and running programs; over the course of the event’s history it has donated more than $6.5 million to beneficiaries including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, and Friends of Tampa Recreation.
