Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic (2027)
The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic is a three-day race weekend held in Tampa, Florida, centered at 333 South Franklin Street. The weekend program includes a Health & Fitness Expo, a dog walk, multiple road races, and several multi-event challenge options. Races use a flat, out-and-back waterfront course on Bayshore Boulevard and include a post-race celebration along the Hillsborough River with live music, an awards presentation, and one complimentary Michelob Ultra for registered participants age 21 or older.
The event is organized by the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports youth charitable organizations and running-related and high school programs. Over its 49-year history, the association has donated more than $6.9 million to local youth charities. The event also lists current fundraising organizations and a cumulative raised amount.
Standard race registration for many entries includes a gender-specific race shirt, a timed bib number, a reusable shopping bag, a virtual finisher’s certificate, a finisher’s towel, and a finisher’s medal. Some multi-event challenge entries also include a unisex pullover hoodie. Multiple race options accommodate individual participants and families with stroller and child categories.
