Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 2027
The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic is a three day race weekend in Tampa, Florida, centered at 333 South Franklin Street. The event uses a flat out and back waterfront course on Bayshore Blvd and includes a Health & Fitness Expo and a dog walk.
Races and multi event challenges are offered across several distances and formats. A post race celebration along the Hillsborough River provides one free Michelob Ultra beer to registered participants aged 21 or older, live music, and an awards presentation.

Many race entries include a gender specific race shirt, timed bib number, reusable shopping bag, virtual finisher’s certificate, finisher’s towel, and finisher’s medal. The 5K stroller child entry receives a finishers medal but no shirt. The Pepperjack dog walk entry includes one human and one dog; an additional dog is available for a fee and a maximum of two dogs per human is allowed.
The Gasparilla Distance Classic Association is a 501(c)(3) that supports youth charitable organizations and running programs. Over its 49 year history the association has donated more than $6.9 million. Fundraising organizations listed for the event have raised $3,018.71.
