Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble 5K & 1 Mile
The Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble is an out-and-back Thanksgiving morning race held at Benchmark International Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes organized packet pickup prior to race day.
Distances available:
- 5K out-and-back.
- 1 Mile fun run.
- Virtual 5K option to run from any location.
There is no race day registration or packet pickup. All race packets must be collected during scheduled packet pickup hours at Dick's House of Sports, with two pickup locations offered. Virtual registrants receive a finisher medal, race bib, and shirt and must pick up their packet at a pre-race pickup location.
Children who remain in strollers on the course may participate without registration but must stay in the stroller and will not receive a race shirt or finisher items. Children who leave strollers on course must be registered to receive commemorative dri-fit shirts and finisher medals. Strollers are asked to line up in the back of the field. Limited dogs are permitted and must be registered. Participants requesting ladies size shirts are advised to size up one or two sizes because those shirts run very small.
Proceeds support YMCA community programs. The event covers 100 percent of the cost of the Kids Thrivers Club and Pedaling for Parkinson's and also supports programs such as the Diabetes Prevention Program, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, Healthy Steps for Older Adults, and Enhance Fitness.
