PSF 5K for Education and 1K Fun Run
The PSF 5K for Education and 1K Fun Run is a community fundraiser held at McCorkle Place on the UNC campus in Chapel Hill on March 14, 2026. The event supports local teachers, schools and the community. Ten dollars from each adult 5K registration is directed to the registrant’s selected CHCCS school.

- 5K for adults, youth and CHCCS teachers and staff
- 1K fun run
Participant categories include an adult 5K, youth and student 5K open to ages 1 to 18, a CHCCS teachers and staff 5K registration, and a separate 1K fun run. The 1K fun run includes a T-shirt and bib and is not timed. Adult registration is listed at $30 and increases to $35 after March 9; teacher and student registration is listed at $20; several events list a $20 price point. Strollers are welcome. Dogs are not allowed.
The event features school teams and a golden sneaker trophy for the CHCCS school with the most registered participants. A mascot warm up and lap takes place on McCorkle Place and designated cheer stations are positioned along the course. Packet pick up is available the day before at Fleet Feet in Carrboro and on race morning at McCorkle Place. Course maps are provided for both the 5K and the 1K.
