Event details

The PSF 5K for Education and 1K Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at McCorkle Place, UNC. The event includes multiple categories:

5K CHCCS Teachers/Staff only
5K Adult
5K Youth / Student (open to ages 1–18)
1K Fun Run

The 1K Fun Run includes a T-shirt and bib and will not be timed. The 5K supports local schools: $10 from each adult 5K registration is designated for the registrant’s selected CHCCS school. The CHCCS school with the most registered participants will receive a golden sneaker trophy. Strollers are welcome; dogs are not allowed. 5K t-shirts are available to the first 2,000 registrants.

Logistics

Online registration is open until race morning. Packet pick up is available Friday, March 13 from 12:00–6:00 PM at Fleet Feet in Carrboro and on race morning at McCorkle Place. The event is held rain or shine. Walkers are welcome and timing service will attempt to record finish times for all who cross the finish line. If the trailing police vehicle passes a participant, that person must move to the sidewalk or side of the road and follow normal pedestrian rules.
