Sunrise Scramble
The Sunrise Scramble is a multi-distance running event held at Fred G. Bond Metro Park in Cary, North Carolina. Participants can choose to run, walk, roll, or stroll through the park. The event features a single course where participants complete laps based on their chosen distance. A unique aspect of this event is that runners receive split times for each lap completed.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 15 km run
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- Kids in Strollers
- Virtual 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km options
The event utilizes a staggered start format. There is a time limit of 1.5 hours to complete the chosen distance. If a participant is unable to finish their selected distance before the course closes, they are automatically transferred to the distance they successfully completed. However, those who begin their final lap before the designated cutoff are permitted to finish, and their full time and distance will be recorded.
Registration for the 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km distances includes a finisher medal and a gift. Awards are available for top overall finishers in male and female categories, as well as age group winners and those who set new course records. Parents registered for the main races may also register children to be pushed in strollers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
