Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K
The Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K is the sixth annual 5K event held in Hillsborough, starting at Eno River Brewing and following the town's River Walk. The event offers both an in-person Run or Walk 5K and a Virtual 5K option.
Proceeds support the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse and local missions' efforts in Hillsborough. The event is organized as a memorial honoring a local National Guard service member who provided medical care overseas and who died in a motorcycle accident.
All registered participants receive a custom race t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Virtual participants' fees include shipping of the t-shirt and medal after the event. The deadline to guarantee a chosen t-shirt size is March 3, 2027. The registration fee is $40 per entry for each option.
Packet pickup is available on race day. The course includes some narrow sections along the route, including a covered bridge; dogs are welcome but should be considered carefully in congested areas.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Registration opens and closes according to the event's schedule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
