Providence Monster Dash 5K & Kids Race
The Providence Monster Dash takes place on October 25, 2026 in downtown Providence with start and finish at South Water Street (250 S Water St). The event includes a community 5K run/walk and a short kids dash for children 12 and under.
Event distances:
- Approximately 1/4 mile kids dash for ages 12 and under; parents may run with children.
- 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk; walkers are welcome. No pets allowed. Strollers must start in the back.
The 5K route includes a section through the RIPTA bus tunnel that the organizer describes as "zombie-infested." A course map is available for the 5K route.
Registration fees vary by date. Examples from the published schedule include 5K fees from $34 up to $38 for online registration and $45 for race walk up registration; kids run fees from $15 up to $17 online and $20 walk up. T-shirt availability is not guaranteed for walk up registrations. Pre-race packet pickup is offered at Marathon Sports in Providence Place and race day packet pickup is on South Water Street.
Awards include top overall finishers (top 3 men, women, non-binary), age group winners, top kids finishers, and a team award scored by chip time. Overall awards are scored on gun time while age groups use chip time.
Virtual participation is supported; virtual entries can receive shirts by pickup or mail and virtual results count toward selected race series. The race supports the Gloria Gemma Foundation and concludes with a gathering at Yellow Door Taqueria in Providence. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
