Race Judicata - Diversey Harbor
Race Judicata is an annual 5K run and walk that benefits Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation. The 2026 event is scheduled for August 13, 2026 and is held at Lincoln Park, 1746 N Stockton Drive. The course loops around Lincoln Park along the south lagoon path to Diversey Harbor and returns to the field at Stockton and LaSalle Drive.
All proceeds support the general operating costs of Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. The event includes a postrace celebration with live music and complimentary beer, wine and snacks. Each participant receives a commemorative race T-shirt; teams are encouraged to design shirts and may enter a t-shirt contest. Tent rentals are available for teams on a first come, first served basis and rented tents can receive team race materials.
Race operations use chip timing attached to runner bibs and provide split times. Water stations are located at the start, on the course, and at the finish. The course follows the same route as the USATF certified course IL-09119-JW. Awards are given by gender for overall finishers, for top lawyers, and for age categories: Under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and over.
The event runs rain or shine; in cases of severe weather the organizers may delay, alter, or cancel components of the event and entry fees are nonrefundable. Packet pickup is scheduled on dates prior to the race at designated local locations. The first 3,600 registrants who attend packet pickup receive a goody bag and race T-shirt.
