Regular Irregular
The Regular Irregular is a long-distance walking and running event held on 12 December 2026 in the Holmfirth area. The event is based at Brockholes village hall, Brockholes, Huddersfield (Grid ref: SE 153109). Participants may walk or run one or more of three looped routes; route description, maps and GPX files are available to download.

Entry is advanced only via SI Entries; paper entries are not accepted. Fees listed are £12.00 for LDWA members and £15.00 for non LDWA. Children under 16 are free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On the day entry is accepted as cash only at £20. Entrant numbers are limited to 150 with a waiting list once full. U18s must either be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control or on a lead.
The event crosses moorland, urban sections and roads and takes place in early winter conditions. Required equipment includes waterproof clothing, a spare top, suitable footwear, a head or hand torch with spare batteries, a first aid kit, compass, whistle, a survival bag not a blanket, and a route description and map. Electronic route copies are allowed if downloaded with backup power. Participants should carry a mobile phone and are advised to use reflective markings.
Catering arrangements aim to provide meat or fish and vegetarian options; those with special dietary needs should contact the organiser though allergen-free provision cannot be guaranteed. Entry includes tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, a meal at the finish, a badge and a certificate. Participants must bring their own mug for drinks.
A full refund is available up to one month before the event minus the SI Entries administration fee; after that no refund is given. In the event of cancellation due to force majeure or government restrictions refunds will be made minus the SI Entries fee and any admin costs.
