Event overview
The 20th Regular Irregular is a challenge event on Saturday 13 December 2025, based at Brockholes Village Hall, Brockholes (Holmfirth), grid reference SE153109. Participants may walk or run up to three loop routes in the Holmfirth area. The loops are:
- 11.6 miles (18.5 km)
- 7.2 miles (11.5 km)
- 4.2 miles (6.7 km)
Loops must be completed in order from longest to shortest. There are cut-off times for starting the later loops.
Practical information
Advance entry is by SiEntries only; no paper entries. Entry fees are LDWA £12, non-LDWA £15; U16s accompanied by an adult enter free. On-the-day entry is accepted at £20 cash only. The event is limited to 150 entrants; a waiting list operates when full. Both walkers and runners may enter. U18s must be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control and on a lead.
The route covers moorland, urban sections and roads. Entrants must carry minimum equipment including waterproofs, a spare top, suitable footwear, a torch with spare batteries, a first aid kit, compass, whistle, survival bag (not blanket), and a route description and map (Explorer 288). Entry includes tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, and a meal and certificate at the finish. Participants must supply their own map copies and are advised to bring a personal mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
