Regular Irregular

The Regular Irregular is a winter walking and running event organised by The Irregulars LDWA, scheduled for 12 December 2026. The event uses Brockholes village hall, Brockholes, Huddersfield (Grid ref: SE 153109) as the start and finish venue. Route description, maps and GPX files are available to download.

Participants may complete one or more of three looped routes over moorland, urban terrain and roads. The event takes place in early winter and participants should expect shortening daylight and potentially inclement weather.

Entry is by advanced registration through SI Entries only; paper entries are not accepted. Entry fees are shown for LDWA and non LDWA members, with children under 16 free if accompanied by a parent or guardian. On the day entries may be accepted for the correct cash amount only. Entrant categories include LDWA members, non LDWA members and runners. Entry is limited to 150 places with a waiting list when full. Refunds are available up to one month before the event minus the SI Entries administration fee; later refunds are not normally offered. In case of cancellation for force majeure a refund will be given minus SI Entries and any incurred administration costs.

Entry includes tea and toast at registration, snacks and cold drinks between loops, a meal at the finish, a badge and a certificate. Participants must bring their own mug.

Required kit reflects terrain and season and includes waterproof clothing, a spare top, suitable footwear, head or hand torch with spare batteries and a first aid kit. A compass, whistle, survival bag not blanket, route description and map are also required. Electronic route copies are permitted provided they are downloaded, have sufficient power and a backup power supply is available. Reflective markings and a mobile telephone are recommended. Entrants must supply their own printed copies of the route description and maps as none will be supplied on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
