Preston Park Trail Races
The Preston Park trail event is held in Butler, Pennsylvania, at 415 South Eberhart Road. This annual running event is organized by the Friends of Preston Park Foundation and takes place within the natural grounds of Preston Park. The course is described as non-technical and runnable, and it is open to both runners and walkers.
Participants can choose from several distance options held on trail paths:
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k Challenge (5k and 10k combined)
The 10k course utilizes different sections of the park compared to the 5k and is noted to be slightly more difficult. For those who complete the 15k Trail Challenge by running both consecutive races, special finisher items are provided, including a medal, a hat, and a hoagie.
Awards are presented following the conclusion of each individual race. Participants who enter the multi-race challenge are eligible for age group awards in both the 5k and 10k categories. T-shirts are available for participants who register by the designated cutoff date in early October. The event ground is recognized locally for its natural scenery and fall setting.
